The Isle of Harris is joined to the Isle of Lewis; one of the Hebridean Islands off the West coast of Scotland. It is a wild untamed place of sweeping rocky moorlands and long curved beaches. The bedrock is largely Lewisian gneisses and is similar to the rocks found on the mountains of the moon. Parts of the coastal regions are flat and flooded. Sheep graze the moorlands.
