subtropical rainforests of Australia

A New Post From Clint Farlinger http://GlobalEyeImages.com/portfolio/CFarlinger

I've revised my lightbox and created a gallery of photographs of Australia's oldgrowth subtropical rainforests.

Old-growth subtropical rainforests are generally found where the rainfall is more than 1300mm annually, favouring sheltered gullies from sea level to about 900 metres. These forests exhibit vast bio-diversity with a well developed multi-layered canopy of up to 60 species of trees or more. Sites represented in this collection of photographs include Lamington and…

Does Good Photography Come From the Left Brain or the Right Brain?

Perhaps it’s an oversimplification, but the left brain is generally characterized as being where logical, analytical thinking occurs while the right brain handles emotional, creative thought. So which is the most important in creating good photography?….

Novotel Twin Waters Resort

A New Post From Tracie Pippenger http://GlobalEyeImages.com/portfolio/tracielouisephotography

Recently we stayed at the gorgeous Novotel Twin Waters Resort on Queenslands Sunshine Coast. Whilst the other guests were enjoying a well deserved sleep in, in luxury accommodations, I was up enjoying the peace and tranquility of a magical sunrise. This was such a beautiful place early morning, and so much fun during the day. From Kayaks and catamarans on the lagoon, to walks on the surf beach and by the river. I had my first ever ride on a Segway. So many things to do, and in the most…

Iowa’s natural places

A New Post From Clint Farlinger http://GlobalEyeImages.com/portfolio/CFarlinger

Although the most disturbed landscape in America, Iowa still has many natural jewels. Ranging from tree covered bluffs along the Mississippi River to prairie remnants to river greenbelts to the incomparable Loess Hills, Iowa's biodiversity is surprising.

This is Iowa? A frequently recurring question both as I look through the viewfinder and as I share the resulting photographs. While Iowa lacks the obvious beauty of mountains and grand vistas, there is no end to the more subtle…

Jasper National Park Mammals

A New Post From Chris Star http://GlobalEyeImages.com/portfolio/CStar

I lived in Jasper, Alberta, for almost five years, photographing wild mammals throughout Jasper National Park. As a local resident, I quickly learned what attracts visitors to Jasper and this is reflected in my nature stock images.

When you encourage families with young children to visit a national park, you present them with an opportunity to observe wild animals in their natural habitat. Canadian parks usually conduct educational programs for visitors in the summer season. The Friends of…

Lake Tahoe and San Francisco Bay Area

A New Post From Doris Miocinovic http://GlobalEyeImages.com/portfolio/Doris

I will be visiting the west coast of the United States of America between December 26th, 2011 and January 3rd, 2012: San Francisco, San Jose, Campbell, and Kings Beach, Lake Tahoe.

San Francisco is the cultural, financial, and transportation center, one of the mostly densely settled large cities in the United States. It fronts the Pacific Ocean, and it is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, famous for its chilly summer fog, steep hills, the mix of architecture, Golden Gate…
